Sicily is, of course, part of Italy, but it is geographically and culturally distinct and I have enough images to warrant giving it its own section. I lived in Sicily for a year, but that was in the 'film era" before I had a digital camera. These images are all from a much more recent trip to Sicily aboard the Spirit of Oceanus cruise ship, and each place was limited to a few hours at most, so the photographic opportunities were more limited than when I lived there. I was pleased to see that the island has modernized considerably, and mostly in very good ways, though it has lost a bit of the old world charm it had before.
