St Martin is not a country of its own, but rather is an island divided by two nations, The Netherlands and France. The northern part is Saint Martin and the southern part is called Sint Maarten. Because this island is so distinct from its mother countries, I have included it in the Caribbean rather than splitting it under those countries. We made a short trip by bus from Philipsburg to Marigot, but it was an extremely hot day.
