Skagway is a very interesting gold rush town that is one of the few such wooden towns remaining intact. A lot has been preserved and the setting is quite spectacular. It is overrun by tourists from the cruise ships in the summer, but the rest of the year it is really quite quiet and pleasant. The White Pass and Yukon Railway is one of the world's great train journeys, and is featured in its own page on this website.
