Black Widow Spiders are very common in central North Carolina. Although very poisonous and potentially lethal to the elderly, very young, and those in poor health, these spiders are not aggressive and tend to bite only if their lives are threatened. This one was found just outside the entrance to where I was working (We found another home for it).
